Swiss Shield® yarns

Yarn count
The yarn count extends from extremely fine (over 100 Nm) right up to the coarsest gauges.

Base material
Numerous materials can be employed as the base for Swiss Shield® yarns: From cotton to artificial fibres such as polyester, polyamides, aramides and the like.

Conductive elements
Monofilaments can be made from copper, brass, bronze, silver, gold, aluminium or other conductive materials.

Conductive or insulating surface

Swiss Shield® fabric its shielding effect

Swiss Shield® Textiles

Swiss Shield® work clothing provides reliable protection from electromagnetic radiation

Swiss Shield® yarns form the basis for the manufacture of high-quality fabrics with specifically variable characteristics.

Shielding
The degree of shielding provided by Swiss Shield® fabrics can be tuned to applicable needs and these may extend from a few dB to over 80 dBs. These values are achieved at total, horizontal and/or vertical polarization.

Construction of textiles, equipment and materials
Swiss Shield® yarns can be worked into extremely fine (40 g/m 2) to heavy (over 250 g/m 2) fabrics. Textile characteristics are variable according to the particular application.

Working
Swiss Shield® textiles are as simple to process as normal fabrics (sewing, gluing, coating, moulding, lamination etc.).
