Thanks to state-of-the-art manufacturing technology, the most varied and product-specific customer requirements can be incorporated. Their possible applications are many and varied. The spectrum of applications for Swiss Shield® yarns includes:

  • Technical textiles for industrial and military applications
  • Home textiles
  • Clothing textiles

Swiss Shield® yarns

Yarn count

The yarn count ranges from extremely fine (over 100 Nm) all the way to the coarsest count.

Base material

Numerous materials can be employed as the base for Swiss Shield® yarns. From cotton to artificial fibres such as polyester, polyamide, aramids and the like.

Conductive elements

The monofilament can be made from copper, bronze, silver, gold, aluminium, inox or other conductive materials.

Health

Swiss Shield® fabrics do not contain any silver nano particles, nickel or any other harmful metal / substances causing allergic reactions. You will never be in contact with silver using Swiss Shield® fabrics. All Swiss Shield® fabrics are continuously being tested and certified according to the Oekotest 100 Standard.

Conductive or insulated surface

The surface of the monofilament can be selected from either an insulated or an electrically conductive type.

A gossamer-thin, integrated metallic monofilament gives the Swiss Shield® fabric its shielding effect.

Swiss Shield® Textiles

Swiss Shield® yarns form the basis for the manufacturing
of high-quality textile fabrics with specifically variable characteristics.

Shielding

The degree of shielding provided by Swiss Shield® textiles can be matched to the respective requirements and may range from a few dB to over 80 dB. These values are achieved at total, horizontal and/or vertical polarization.

Textile structure, finishing and materials

Swiss Shield® yarns can be worked into extremely fine (40 g/m2) to heavy (over 250 g/m2) fabrics. The textile characteristics are variable according to application.

Processing

Swiss Shield® textiles are as simple to process as normal fabrics such as sewing, gluing, coating, mounting and laminating.

Washing

  • Machine wash at 30°/40° with usual detergent
  • No tumble drying
  • Iron at medium heat
